Build Your Own AI Support Bot

You practise each step in a practice copy of the real tool, such as Chatbase, tawk.to or n8n, right in your browser. Nothing touches your real accounts, and you can start without signing up. You start with how a bot answers from your documents, and the guardrails, fallback answers and handoff that stop it guessing. When you finish, you will be able to set up a FAQ agent in Chatbase, answer website questions after hours with tawk.to, build a Jotform agent for client questions, and load a handbook into Pinecone so an n8n chatbot answers staff questions from it.

How long does the Build Your Own AI Support Bot path take?

About 97 minutes across 9 lessons, at a beginner level. The first four lessons explain how a bot answers from your documents and how to stop it guessing, then you build bots without code. The last three lessons use n8n and Pinecone, so leave them for when the earlier ones feel easy.

How do I build an AI support bot?

Give a bot builder your current FAQ and policies, tell it to answer only from them with a fallback answer for anything else, test five hard questions, then add it to your website. This path does each step, then builds the same bot yourself in n8n.

How does a chatbot answer from my own documents?

Through retrieval, or RAG: your files are split into chunks and indexed by meaning, the closest chunks are found for each question, and the AI answers only from those.

When should a support bot hand off to a person?

When someone asks for a person, raises a complaint, asks for advice, or the bot has used its fallback twice. A good handoff collects the details and says when a person will reply.

Do I need to code?

No for the first modules. The last three use n8n, which is visual but needs connected accounts and an API key.
