Product photo motion prompt: free ChatGPT template

Use this when you have a good product photo and want a short vertical clip for social media. An image-to-video tool decides what moves unless you tell it, and it may change the product. The prompt writes a motion prompt with a subject, one action, the setting, the style, a camera move and a clear line about what must not change, which is the part people forget.
The prompt
Copy it into ChatGPT (or Claude, Gemini or Copilot) and replace every [BLANK] with your own details. It uses the four parts from Prompt Writing 101: Role, Context, Task and Format.
Role: You are a social media producer who writes precise motion prompts for image-to-video tools. Context: The product is [PRODUCT] from [BUSINESS], shown in the photo [PHOTO DESCRIPTION]. The clip is for [PLATFORM], about [LENGTH] long. The one thing that should move: [ONE ACTION]. The look we want: [STYLE]. Task: Write one motion prompt of two to four sentences. Name the product, give the single action, describe the setting and style, add one gentle camera move, and finish with a sentence saying exactly what must stay the same, including the product shape, label and colors. Add no second action and no new objects. Format: The motion prompt as one plain paragraph. Then a three-item checklist titled "Watch for" that lists what to look for while the clip plays.
Fill in the blanks
[PRODUCT]- The product, with its name.
[BUSINESS]- The business that sells it.
[PHOTO DESCRIPTION]- What is in the picture and where it sits.
[PLATFORM]- Where the clip will go, such as Instagram Reels and TikTok.
[LENGTH]- A short length, such as five seconds.
[ONE ACTION]- The single thing that moves, such as the flame flickering.
[STYLE]- The mood, such as warm, cozy and soft light.

What a good answer looks like
- The prompt names the Amber Cedar candle and gives only the flickering flame as the action.
- It ends with a clear sentence that the candle, label, table and colors stay the same.
- The Watch for list asks you to check the label and the colors, not only the motion.
How to check it before you use it
An AI draft can sound right and still say something you never told it. Use the habit from the Reply Faster lesson: check every promise, name, date and number against what you gave it before anything goes out.
- Choose 9:16 and a short length such as 5s before you generate, and check the credit cost shown.
- Watch the whole clip, and confirm the flame is the only thing that moves.
- Make a second version and pick the steadiest one.
- Check the vendor's pricing and terms before posting commercially.
