What is Metricool?
Quick answer
Metricool (metricool.com) is a social media scheduler and analytics tool. You plan posts on a drag-and-drop calendar for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube and other networks, track how they perform and compare against competitors. Its AI assistant helps with ideas and post text.

Why it matters for a small business
Small businesses tend to post in bursts and then go quiet. A social media scheduler fixes that by letting you write a batch of posts in one sitting and drop them onto a calendar. Metricool adds the second half: analytics on what worked, so next week's plan is based on results.
Its help center shows multiposting: in Planning, click Create post, pick the networks and click Edit by network. You write shared text in the Template tab, then adjust each network's version, and Metricool creates one publication per network when you schedule.
Metricool also lists best-time-to-post suggestions, automated reports, a unified inbox for messages and comments, an approval system for clients or teammates, and ads tracking for Google, Facebook and TikTok.
In a real lesson: Plan a Week of Social Posts in One Sitting using SocialBee
The SocialBee lesson plans the week in SocialBee, not Metricool. Dana's firm, Harbor Tax, posts in bursts and then goes quiet. The Social media copilot asks six questions, suggests networks, splits the week into five content categories and writes one post for each.
You add a Firm news category, write one more tip with Generate captions, set it for Tuesday at 10:00 as a draft, then see the whole week on the calendar, waiting for review.
Metricool does the same scheduling job with its own planner: one post written once, edited per network, then placed on the calendar. Where it adds most is afterwards, in the analytics and reports that show which of those five kinds of post earned the most engagement.

Common confusions
Metricool vs SocialBee
Both schedule posts across networks. SocialBee, used in the lesson, is built around content categories and an AI copilot; Metricool puts more weight on analytics, competitor tracking and reports.
Scheduled vs published
A scheduled post is waiting on the calendar. It is not live until its time comes, and a post sent for review waits until someone approves it.
Tips
- Plan a mix of post types so the feed does not read like an ad.
- Edit each network's version instead of pasting the same text everywhere.
- Check the analytics weekly and move your time into what worked.
