ChatGPT Gets GPT-6 and Intelligent UI: Answers Now Come with Charts, Buttons and Calculators
When you ask ChatGPT to compare options or work through numbers, the answer can now be a chart or a small calculator you can change, not just a wall of text.
What happened
On October 7, 2026, OpenAI announced GPT-6 and Intelligent UI for ChatGPT: answers can combine text, visuals and interactive elements, depending on the question. OpenAI says responses can include tappable buttons, forms, charts and interactive experiences, and ChatGPT can build small tools inside a chat, such as calculators and bill splitters. With GPT-6, ChatGPT can begin answering while it continues to think, adding information as it goes. GPT-6 Sol started rolling out to Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise users on October 7, and GPT-6 Luna started rolling out to Free and Go users on October 8, according to 9to5Mac’s report of the announcement. TechCrunch, which attended OpenAI’s briefing, reports that you can dial back how many visuals appear in answers. Source: OpenAI: GPT-6 and Intelligent UI for everyone (October 7, 2026).

What it means for an office team
The most basic use is the numbers question you already ask by email. Paste last quarter’s sales by region and ask for the three takeaways: the answer can now arrive as a chart you can read at a glance, and a follow-up like "what if the West region grows 10%?" can come back as a calculator you adjust yourself.
Check the inputs before you share anything. An interactive chart looks finished, but it is only as right as the numbers you pasted and the assumptions ChatGPT made, so read the figures behind it before it goes in a report.
