What Is ProLevelMax? A Plain-English Guide to Its Web Data API

ProLevelMax (prolevelmax.com) is a pay-per-call data API. You pick a ready-made data source, such as the newest posts in one subreddit or the comments on one post, send one request, and get the results back as tidy JSON. It covers Reddit posts and comment threads plus more than 150 other platforms, and tools like n8n call it with a single HTTP Request node. You can try it hands-on in the free lesson ProLevelMax in n8n: Keep Your Reddit Workflow Alive After the RSS Shutdown, the first module of the free ProLevelMax Jump Start.

This page is for marketers, operations people and founders who use n8n (or want to) and need public web data in a workflow without registering developer apps or writing a scraper. It is my own explainer, not an official ProLevelMax guide. The facts come from prolevelmax.com, its docs and OpenAPI file, and the ProLevelMax console, all read in October 2026.

What problem does ProLevelMax solve?

Plenty of useful business signals sit on public sites: what customers ask on Reddit, what people say about a competitor, which posts in a niche are getting attention. Getting that data into a workflow is the hard part. Each platform has its own API, keys, rules and formats, some have no easy API at all, and feeds that used to be simple can disappear.

That last point is why the free lesson exists. Reddit announced on r/modnews on September 30, 2026 that its RSS feeds stop working on November 13, 2026. Any n8n workflow that reads a subreddit with the RSS Read node will stop getting posts. ProLevelMax replaces that node with one API call, so the rest of the workflow keeps running.

The general idea: instead of learning a new API for every site, you learn one, and swap the data source.

How does ProLevelMax work?

Four ideas explain almost everything in the ProLevelMax console and docs.

Data sources. Each kind of data is a source with its own id. In the console, Data sources lists them with a search box. The Subreddit feed source (procli_reddit_c) returns the latest or top posts of one subreddit. Post search (procli_reddit_d) finds posts that match a keyword. Post comments (procli_reddit_b) reads the comments of one post, and Post details (procli_reddit_e) returns one post with its comments.

Inputs. Each source asks for a few inputs. Click Collect on a source to see its input form: Subreddit feed needs subreddit_name and takes an optional sort (BEST, HOT, NEW, TOP, CONTROVERSIAL or RISING). Each source in the list also has a Use in AI button.

One endpoint. Every source runs through the same API endpoint, POST https://prolevelmax.com/v1/run. The JSON body names the source in scraper and the inputs in input. The response has items (the results), count, page (a cursor for the next page) and cost. The REST API also has discover, inspect, runs and whoami calls, documented in an OpenAPI file.

API keys. You create a key under API keys in the console and send it as a bearer token in the Authorization header. In n8n that is a Bearer Auth credential, so the key never sits in the workflow itself. Past runs and their results are listed under Runs.

An n8n workflow: a chat trigger, an HTTP Request to ProLevelMax, a Code node and an AI Agent with an OpenAI Chat Model

How does n8n use ProLevelMax?

n8n has no special ProLevelMax node to install. You use the built-in HTTP Request node:

  1. Set Method to POST and URL to https://prolevelmax.com/v1/run.
  2. Set Authentication to Generic Credential Type, Generic Auth Type to Bearer Auth, and paste your key into a new credential.
  3. Turn on Send Body, choose JSON, and paste a body that names the source and its inputs.

The posts come back with fields such as post.postTitle, post.url, post.createdAt, post.score and post.commentCount. From there it is a normal n8n workflow: trim the fields in a Code or Edit Fields node, hand them to an AI Agent to sum up, and post the result in Slack or a sheet. The lesson also includes a four-node keyword monitor from ProLevelMax's founder that maps the fields to the names an RSS feed used, so the nodes after it do not need to change.

What do businesses use it for?

  • A daily read on a community. A marketing manager gets the newest posts in a subreddit, summed up by AI, every morning. This is the free ProLevelMax n8n lesson.
  • Keyword and brand monitoring. Once a day, search Reddit for your brand, a competitor or the problem your product solves, and send each new post to Slack or a sheet.
  • Customer research. Pull the comments on a busy thread and let AI group what people are frustrated about, with links back to each comment's post.
  • Feeding an AI agent. ProLevelMax publishes a SKILL.md file for AI agents at prolevelmax.com/SKILL.md, next to its API docs.

What should you watch out for?

  • Keep the key in a credential. Never paste it into the URL, the JSON body, a chat or a shared workflow.
  • Check what the AI says against the posts. Open a couple of the linked posts before you act on a theme the summary reports.
  • Send the AI only what it needs. Trim each post to its title, text and link first; it reads faster and costs less.
  • Each call costs money. ProLevelMax is pay as you go from a prepaid balance, so a schedule that runs every minute adds up. See prolevelmax.com/pricing for current prices per call and per result.
  • Follow each platform's rules. Use the data for research and monitoring, and respect people's privacy when you quote them.

Is ProLevelMax free?

ProLevelMax is pay as you go, with no subscription. When we signed up in October 2026, new users got a small amount of free credit after verifying their email, with no card required, which is enough to work through the lesson. Prices are per call and change, so check prolevelmax.com/pricing for current ones.

How do you start learning ProLevelMax?

Start with the free ProLevelMax Jump Start:

  1. ProLevelMax in n8n: Keep Your Reddit Workflow Alive After the RSS Shutdown: find the Subreddit feed source, put your key in an n8n credential, replace the RSS Read node and let an AI Agent answer from the posts. About 9 minutes, every screen a real screenshot.

New to n8n itself? The free n8n for Beginners course covers triggers, nodes, items and credentials first. More ProLevelMax modules will be added to the Jump Start as they are built and tested in the real app.

Key takeaways

  • ProLevelMax is a pay-per-call data API: pick a source, send one request, get JSON back.
  • Every source runs through one endpoint, POST /v1/run, with the source id and its inputs in the body.
  • n8n calls it with the built-in HTTP Request node and a Bearer Auth credential, no extra node needed.
  • It replaces Reddit RSS feeds, which Reddit said stop on November 13, 2026, with posts that carry the same kind of fields.
  • Keep the key in a credential, trim the data before AI reads it, and check summaries against the posts.

Do I need a Reddit developer app to use it?

No. ProLevelMax handles the Reddit side. You need a ProLevelMax API key.

Does n8n have a ProLevelMax node?

You do not need one. The built-in HTTP Request node with a Bearer Auth credential does the job.

Is this an official ProLevelMax course?

No. ProLevelMax is a Stepthrough partner, and this is my own explainer and lesson, built with a real ProLevelMax console and a real n8n workflow.
