Why this matters
A customer case study lives on exact words and exact numbers. Someone usually replays the whole call to find them, and one wrong figure or misspelled name goes out in public.
Transgate turns the recording into a transcript you can edit and question, so your time goes to checking instead of listening.
Practice
Do every step yourself in a practice copy of the real tool. It checks your work, and “Do it for me” finishes any step you get stuck on.
What you’ll build

You work in marketing at a made-up software company and just finished a customer interview. You transcribe the recording, name the speakers and fix what the AI got wrong.
Then you pull exact quotes and numbers, test a claim your customer never made, and download the corrected transcript. The screens are real screenshots from my own free Transgate account, captured October 2026.
What you need
- Nothing to start the practiceThe lesson is a practice copy. The companies and the recording are made up.
- A free Transgate account, to do it for realThe pricing page lists a free trial with 20 minutes of transcription and no credit card. Our two runs used 2 minutes each. Check the current plans.
- The made-up recordingThe download link is in the steps for doing it for real. Use this or a call you have permission to record and upload.
Concepts
Numbers came through. The name did not.
In both of our runs, Transgate got every number right: 11 hours, 9 no-shows, 3 a week and $90. It spelled the customer's surname Oialaren instead of Oyelaran, and it put the customer's "Sure." at the end of the interviewer's line.
Speech to text writes what a name sounds like, so get spellings from your own records. Fix them before you run anything else: the AI Analysis we ran afterward used the corrected spelling, and the download kept the fixes.
Spent is not the same as saved
The customer said his front desk spent about 11 hours a week before switching. He never said how many hours it takes now. Asked how many hours were saved, Transgate's chat said the transcript does not state that, in both runs.
But the automatic analysis in our first run listed "11 hrs/week saved". Our second run did not. So treat the analysis as a draft, and ask where the transcript says anything you plan to publish.
The analysis can use the wrong template
Transgate read our customer interview as an Interview and added a Candidate Assessment, with the customer rated 5 out of 5 stars. That template suits hiring interviews, not customers, so do not forward the analysis as is.
The summary paragraph and the suggested next steps were still useful. Both runs also suggested getting approval to use his name, which is a real step: get your customer's OK before you publish.
Do it for real
Now repeat it in your own account. Tick each step as you go.

Quick check
3 questions to check you’ve got it.
1. The transcript matches every number but spells the customer's surname wrong. What should you do?
- Get the spelling from your own records and fix it with the pencil
- Trust it, since the numbers were right
- Ask the AI chat how to spell it
Show the answer
Get the spelling from your own records and fix it with the pencil. Speech to text writes what a name sounds like. Only your records or the customer can settle the spelling.
2. The customer said his desk spent 11 hours a week before switching. Can you write "saved 11 hours a week"?
- No, he never gave the hours after switching
- Yes, because the problem went away
- Yes, if the AI summary says it
Show the answer
No, he never gave the hours after switching. He gave only the before figure. Ask him for the after figure, then do the math.
3. Why not forward the AI Analysis to your team as is?
- In our test it graded the customer as a job candidate, and its wording changed between runs
- It cannot read speaker names
- It always invents quotes
Show the answer
In our test it graded the customer as a job candidate, and its wording changed between runs. Our analysis added a Candidate Assessment, and one run said hours were saved. Use it as a draft and check it.
