Trello for Teams: One Board for Client Work is a free, hands-on AI course for office managers, team leads and small-firm owners who track work in email threads and spreadsheets: 2 short modules (about 17 minutes in all) where you do each step yourself in a safe practice copy of Trello, which checks your work. No coding, no cost, and you can start without signing up.
Who it’s for: Office managers, team leads and small-firm owners who track work in email threads and spreadsheets. Trello Free; no project management background needed.
Why this course
When tasks live in inboxes and a shared spreadsheet, nobody can see what is stuck or whose turn it is, and the weekly meeting turns into a status check. A Trello board shows it at a glance, and moving a card is the update.
The two modules follow a made-up bookkeeping firm onboarding new clients. Every practice screen is a real Trello screen on the free plan.
What you’ll build
- Module 1 · Trello · Beginner · ~10 min
Trello: Track Client Onboarding on One Team Board
Your four-person bookkeeping firm onboards about three new clients a month. Each one needs an engagement letter, bank statements, a kickoff call and a client portal. Today those tasks live in email threads and a shared spreadsheet, so a client can wait a week for a letter because nobody knew it was theirs, and the Monday meeting is spent asking "where are we with…?".
- Module 2 · Trello · Beginner · ~7 min
Trello: Mark Work Complete Automatically with a Free Rule
Your team drags finished client tasks to Done but forgets to tick them complete. Their due dates keep showing as overdue, the board looks worse than the work really is, and every Monday someone spends ten minutes tidying it.
Prerequisites
- For the practice: a web browser. Each module runs in a copy of the real tool’s screens, so you need no account and no sign-up to start module 1.
- To do it for real: a free Trello account. Each module says which one it uses.
Time to complete
About 17 minutes of hands-on practice across 2 modules (35 steps in all). Modules take 7 to 10 minutes each, so you can do one in a sitting and come back for the next.
