Turn a One-Page Business Plan into an Investor-Ready Deck using Slidebean

SlidebeanBeginner~9 min practice23 steps

Why this matters

A founder with a seed meeting next week usually has the plan on one page, but no deck. A designer takes a week and a few thousand dollars. A blank template takes a weekend.

Slidebean’s AI drafts a 13-slide deck from that one page in about two minutes. The real work is the next ten minutes: catching the numbers the AI made up and filling the blanks it left, so every figure in the deck is one you can defend.

Practice

Do every step yourself in a practice copy of the real tool. It checks your work, and “Do it for me” finishes any step you get stuck on.

What you’ll build

Prefer to watch? The short video tour

You help Dana, co-founder of Ledgerly, a made-up bookkeeping startup. You paste her one-page plan into Slidebean’s Pitch deck with AI and get a 13-slide draft.

Then you replace a statistic the AI really invented when we tested it, put the real price on the Business Model slide and the real raise on the Fundraising slide, and see what the free plan can export.

What you need

  • Nothing to start the practiceThe plan and Slidebean are practice copies inside the lesson. Ledgerly and every number are made up.
  • The one-page plan templateDownload it below. It has the eight lines and the same plan as one paragraph, ready to paste.
  • A Slidebean account, to do it for realSign up free at slidebean.com. The free Basic plan was enough to create and edit the AI deck in our test.
  • Your own one-page planCompany, problem, solution, market, traction, price, team and the ask. Under 600 characters as one paragraph.

Concepts

Give it the plan, not the website

Slidebean first asks for your website. A website rarely has your traction, price or raise on it. The company description option (click here under the box) takes up to 600 characters, which fits a one-page plan written as one paragraph.

Two kinds of wrong

The AI writes the text slides (Problem, Solution, Features, Secret Sauce). There, watch for invented numbers: in our test it added $1 billion a year and $3,000 per firm, neither in the plan.

The number slides (Business Model, Traction, Total Addressable Market, Team, Financials Projections, Fundraising) kept template placeholders like $XX/mo and 1000+ MAUs. Those look finished at a glance and are not yours.

Free builds, paid sends

On the free Basic plan you can create and edit the whole deck. Export to PDF, PowerPoint or HTML showed Unlock to export, and sharing a link needs an upgrade too. Finish every number before you decide whether to pay.

Do it for real

Now repeat it in your own account. Tick each step as you go.

Quick check

3 questions to check you’ve got it.

1. Slidebean asks for your website URL. What gives the AI the most to work with?

  • Your homepage URL
  • Your one-page plan, pasted as the company description
  • Just the company name
Show the answer

Your one-page plan, pasted as the company description. The plan has your traction, price and ask. A website usually doesn’t.

2. The Problem slide says the problem costs $1 billion a year. It isn’t in your plan. What do you do?

  • Keep it, it sounds right
  • Replace it with a fact from your plan, or a number with a source
  • Make it bigger
Show the answer

Replace it with a fact from your plan, or a number with a source. Investors ask where numbers come from. In our real test the AI invented this one.

3. The Traction slide shows 20% MoM Growth and 1000+ MAUs. Where did they come from?

  • Your plan
  • The template’s sample data
  • Slidebean’s market research
Show the answer

The template’s sample data. The number slides kept template placeholders. Put in your real figures or delete them.
