What Obsidian does
Obsidian saves each note as a plain Markdown file in a folder on your computer, so it works offline and you are never locked in. You link notes to each other, tag them, and see the connections in a graph view or lay ideas out on an open canvas. Optional Sync and Publish add-ons share notes across devices or turn them into a web wiki.
