AI Appointment Scheduler with Lovable and n8n
Booking, confirming, rescheduling and reminding customers takes more time than most owners realize. This upcoming Stepthrough module will show you how to build a booking form in Lovable connected to an n8n AI agent that handles those messages for you. It is coming soon to Business Automations.
What you will build (coming soon)
In this module you will build a simple appointment system in two parts. The front end is a booking form made in Lovable, where customers enter their details and pick a time. The back end is an n8n workflow with an AI agent that receives each booking, confirms it with the customer, handles requests to reschedule and sends a reminder before the appointment.
The agent will work from rules you set: your hours, how long each appointment takes and how much notice you need. That keeps its replies accurate instead of improvised.
Here is how it will look in practice. A customer books a Tuesday slot and gets a confirmation email a moment later. Two days before, a reminder arrives. If they reply asking to move to Thursday, the agent reads the request, checks it against your rules and updates the booking.
Who this is for
This module is planned for appointment-based businesses: salons, clinics, tutors, consultants, trainers, repair shops and home service companies. If your phone and inbox fill with "can I move my appointment?" messages, this is aimed at you.
It will build on the Lovable + n8n module, which already covers building a form, connecting it to an n8n webhook and adding an AI agent with Google tools. Doing that one first will make this one much faster.
What the module will cover
The exact steps are still being built, but the plan is:
- Describing a booking form to Lovable and connecting it to an n8n webhook.
- Adding an AI agent with a system prompt that knows your hours, appointment lengths and policies.
- Recording each booking so you and the agent can see what is already taken.
- Sending a confirmation email when a booking comes in.
- Handling reschedule requests and updating the booking.
- Using a schedule trigger to send reminders ahead of each appointment.
Why pair a form with an AI agent
A plain booking form collects a time and stops there. The follow-up, the confirmations, the changes and the reminders are where the hours go. An AI agent can read a free-text message like "something came up, could we do Thursday instead?" and work out what the customer wants, which a fixed form cannot.
Keeping the form and the workflow separate, as in the Lovable + n8n module, means you can change your rules in n8n without rebuilding the page.
Clear rules are what make the agent trustworthy. If it knows you open at 9, that a haircut takes 45 minutes and that changes need 24 hours' notice, it can say yes or no with confidence. When a request falls outside those rules, the module will show you how to have the agent pass it to a person instead of guessing, the same safety habit used in the AI Email Responder module.
Reminders are the simplest part and often the most useful. A schedule trigger, like the one you set up in the Daily Job Alerts module, can check each morning for tomorrow's appointments and send each customer a short note.
How you will use it in your business
Put the booking form on your website and let the workflow handle the back and forth. Customers get a quick confirmation and a reminder, and you get a clean record of who is coming when. Your front desk spends less time on the phone confirming times and more time with the customers in front of them. Reminders are a simple way to cut down on missed appointments. You stay in charge of the rules, and you can always step in on a tricky request.
Begin with one appointment type and one reminder. Once confirmations and reminders run smoothly, add rescheduling, then more services. Building in layers makes it easy to see which part needs a fix when something looks off.
What you will need
- A Lovable account for the booking form.
- An n8n account and an OpenAI API key with some credit, as set up in the n8n AI agent module.
- A Google account for storing bookings and sending emails.
- Your booking rules written down: opening hours, appointment lengths, buffer time and how much notice you need for changes.
How Stepthrough modules work
Like every Stepthrough module, it will be interactive. You watch each step on the left, then do it yourself on the right in practice copies of Lovable and n8n, with every click checked and a Do it for me button if you get stuck. No real accounts are touched while you practice.
Frequently asked questions
- When will the AI Appointment Scheduler module be available?
- It is planned and coming soon. The Lovable + n8n module, which teaches the form, webhook and agent setup, is available now.
- Is this course really free?
- Yes. Stepthrough is completely free, and the practice copy needs no accounts. To build it for real you need your own Lovable, n8n, OpenAI and Google accounts, and some of those cost money once you use them for real work.
- Do I need to know how to code?
- No. Lovable builds the form from a plain-English description and n8n connects the steps with nodes.
- Can the AI handle reschedule requests?
- That is one of the main goals of the module: the agent reads the customer's message, checks your rules and updates the booking.
