# Copilot in PowerPoint: Interactive Slides Your Audience Can Click Through, No Copilot License Needed to View

A results slide can become a small dashboard with tabs your audience clicks, and the people you send it to do not need a Copilot license to use it.

## What happened

Microsoft is rolling out interactive slides in PowerPoint: slides that Copilot creates with clickable parts that reveal context, steps or data points, such as a financial dashboard with Revenue, Profitability and Cash flow tabs. You start one with the Interactive Slide button on the Home or Insert ribbon, or Create interactive slide in the Copilot skill picker, then choose Summary, Timeline, Dashboard, Comparison or Custom and describe the slide. Slides can be based on content you already have, such as an Excel workbook snapshot or a project document, and you change them by prompting Copilot rather than editing the slide directly. Anyone you share the file with can use the interactivity without a Copilot license, in PowerPoint for Windows, Mac, web and iPad and in PowerPoint Live in Teams; on iPhone, Android, print and PDF the slide is a static image. ## Who gets it, and what it costs

- **Who can create:** eligible consumer and commercial users with Copilot in PowerPoint, including Microsoft 365 Copilot Basic and Premium users. There is no separate license for interactive slides.
- **Who can view and click:** anyone you share the presentation with, even without a Copilot license.
- **Where it is interactive:** the Copilot app, PowerPoint for Windows, Mac, web and iPad, and PowerPoint Live in Teams. On Mac it works in slide show view, not presenter view.
- **Admins:** Microsoft says there are no admin controls for this skill.

No separate price: it comes with Copilot in PowerPoint on the plans Microsoft lists above.

## What it means for an office team

The basic use is the monthly results slide. Instead of three static charts, you ask Copilot for a dashboard slide from the workbook snapshot, and the people in the review click Revenue or Cash flow themselves.

Two cautions from Microsoft’s own page: in PowerPoint Live each attendee sees only their own clicks, so tell the room which tab you are on, and Copilot-made content can contain mistakes, so check the numbers against the workbook before you present.

## How to try it

1. In PowerPoint, select Interactive Slide on the Home or Insert ribbon, or Create interactive slide in the Copilot skill picker. The rollout runs from mid-October to the end of October 2026.
2. In the Copilot pane, choose Summary, Timeline, Dashboard, Comparison or Custom, and describe the slide you want. Be specific.
3. Keep the Copilot pane open and refine it with follow-up prompts, such as adding a filter or changing the chart type.
4. Check every number, then share the file. Viewers can click through it without a Copilot license.
