Use this when you need a week or a month of post ideas and you're staring at an empty box. Ask for "some post ideas" and you get "Share a behind-the-scenes photo" in ten slightly different forms. This prompt tells the AI what you sell, who reads your posts and the questions customers really ask, then asks for each idea in a fixed layout: platform, topic, hook, short description and one call to action. It's the same layout the [n8n AI agent lesson](https://learn.ynteractive.com/content/n8n-ai-agent-tutorial-google-sheets) saves into Google Sheets, so the ideas drop straight into a list your team can review.

## The prompt

Copy it into ChatGPT (or Claude, Gemini or Copilot) and replace every `[BLANK]` with your own details. It uses the four parts from [Prompt Writing 101](https://learn.ynteractive.com/content/prompt-writing-101-role-context-task-format): Role, Context, Task and Format.

Copy prompt

```text
Role: You are the social media planner for [BUSINESS], writing for people who could become customers.
Context: Our audience is [AUDIENCE]. We offer [SERVICES]. Questions customers ask us often: [CUSTOMER QUESTIONS]. Only use facts from this message. Don't invent statistics, client results or offers.
Task: Give me [NUMBER] social post ideas for [PLATFORMS]. Each idea should teach something, answer a real question or show how we work. No two ideas on the same topic.
Format: A table with these columns: Platform, Post Topic, Hook (the first line, under 15 words), Short Description (one or two sentences), Suggested Call to Action. No emoji, no hashtags.
```

## Fill in the blanks

**`[BUSINESS]`**

Your business name and what kind of business it is, in a few words.

**`[AUDIENCE]`**

Who reads your posts and might buy: their job, their situation, what they worry about.

**`[SERVICES]`**

What you actually offer. The AI should only build ideas around these.

**`[CUSTOMER QUESTIONS]`**

Three to five questions you hear on calls, in emails or at the counter. This is the blank that makes the ideas yours instead of everyone's.

**`[NUMBER]`**

How many ideas you want. Ten is a good batch to pick from.

**`[PLATFORMS]`**

Where you post, such as LinkedIn, Facebook or Instagram.

## Example, filled in

**A made-up example** from the free lesson [n8n AI Agent Tutorial: Save Social Media Ideas to Google Sheets](https://learn.ynteractive.com/content/n8n-ai-agent-tutorial-google-sheets). BrightPath Marketing is the made-up agency in the n8n AI agent lesson. It wants ten LinkedIn and Facebook ideas for owners who keep asking the same questions on sales calls.

Copy example

```text
Role: You are the social media planner for BrightPath Marketing, a digital marketing agency for small and midsize businesses, writing for people who could become customers.
Context: Our audience is business owners and marketing managers. We offer SEO, paid advertising, social media marketing and website design. Questions customers ask us often: how long SEO takes to show results, whether they need a new website before running ads, and how often they should post. Only use facts from this message. Don't invent statistics, client results or offers.
Task: Give me 10 social post ideas for LinkedIn and Facebook. Each idea should teach something, answer a real question or show how we work. No two ideas on the same topic.
Format: A table with these columns: Platform, Post Topic, Hook (the first line, under 15 words), Short Description (one or two sentences), Suggested Call to Action. No emoji, no hashtags.
```

## What a good answer looks like

- Ideas tied to your real questions, like "Do I need a new website before I run ads?", not "Monday motivation" filler.
- Hooks that make a specific point in plain words instead of "Want to grow your business?"
- No numbers it couldn't know. A hook like "73% of businesses..." with no source is a red flag.
- A mix of angles: how-to tips, answers to questions, a look at how you work.
- Calls to action that suit a stranger, such as "send us your question," not "book a strategy session today."

## How to check it before you use it

An AI draft can sound right and still say something you never told it. Use the habit from the [Reply Faster lesson](https://learn.ynteractive.com/content/chatgpt-reply-to-customer-emails): check every promise, name, date and number against what you gave it before anything goes out.

- Check every claim: any number, result or client story in a hook must come from facts you gave. If it says "we helped a client double leads" and you never said that, cut it.
- Scan the Post Topic column for the same idea in different words, and ask for replacements for any repeats.
- Pick three ideas you'd actually post this week. If you can't, your Context is too thin: add more real customer questions and run it again.

## Why this prompt works

The customer questions in the Context do the heavy lifting. They're facts only you have, so they pull the AI away from the ideas every business gets. The Format fixes the columns, which makes the answer easy to compare, sort and hand to whoever writes the posts. ## Frequently asked questions

**Can these ideas save to a spreadsheet automatically?**

Yes. The free [n8n AI agent lesson](https://learn.ynteractive.com/content/n8n-ai-agent-tutorial-google-sheets) builds an agent with a similar system prompt and a Google Sheets tool that writes each idea as a row when you ask it to save.
