Use this when the same pricing questions land in your inbox every week: what is included, what costs extra, how billing works, whether there is a discount for paying yearly. A pricing FAQ saves your sales team those emails and filters out buyers who were never a fit. The risk is a model "rounding" a price or inventing a discount, so this prompt only lets it use the price sheet you paste and tells it to list unanswered questions instead of guessing.

## The prompt

Copy it into ChatGPT (or Claude, Gemini or Copilot) and replace every `[BLANK]` with your own details. It uses the four parts from [Prompt Writing 101](https://learn.ynteractive.com/content/prompt-writing-101-role-context-task-format): Role, Context, Task and Format.

Copy prompt

```text
Role: You are a copywriter writing a pricing FAQ for [COMPANY] that sales and support will both rely on.
Context: Here is our official pricing information, the only source you may use: [PRICE SHEET]. The questions buyers ask most often: [COMMON QUESTIONS]. Our tone: [TONE].
Task: Write a pricing FAQ with eight to ten questions. Answer each from the price sheet only and copy every price, limit and term word for word. If a common question can't be answered from the price sheet, don't answer it: put it in a separate list called "Needs an answer from us". Put the questions that decide a purchase first. Never write "starting at", "around" or "free" unless the price sheet does.
Format: Each item has the question in bold on its own line, then a one to three sentence answer. Plain wording, no jargon. After the list, add "Needs an answer from us" as a bulleted list.
```

## Fill in the blanks

**`[COMPANY]`**

Your company name.

**`[PRICE SHEET]`**

Your real prices, plans, limits, billing terms and cancellation rules, pasted as written. This is the only source of truth.

**`[COMMON QUESTIONS]`**

Questions customers ask by email or on calls. Pull them from your inbox, not your imagination.

**`[TONE]`**

How you want to sound, such as "plain and friendly, no hype".

## Example, filled in

**A made-up example** from the free lesson [Build an n8n AI Agent That Writes Deal Follow-Ups](https://learn.ynteractive.com/content/n8n-ai-agent-sales-deal-follow-ups). Northwind Scheduling Software is the made-up software company from the sales lessons. The made-up price sheet below is invented for this example.

Copy example

```text
Role: You are a copywriter writing a pricing FAQ for Northwind Scheduling Software that sales and support will both rely on.
Context: Here is our official pricing information, the only source you may use: Starter is $29 per user per month, up to 3 users. Team is $39 per user per month, up to 25 users, and includes text reminders. Annual billing is paid up front and saves two months. Setup help is a one-time $250 fee, waived on annual plans. Cancel any time; monthly plans stop at the end of the billing month; annual plans are not refunded. The questions buyers ask most often: Is there a free trial? Do text reminders cost extra? What happens if we go over 25 users? Tone: plain and friendly, no hype.
Task: Write a pricing FAQ with eight to ten questions. Answer each from the price sheet only and copy every price, limit and term word for word. If a common question can't be answered from the price sheet, don't answer it: put it in a separate list called "Needs an answer from us". Put the questions that decide a purchase first. Never write "starting at", "around" or "free" unless the price sheet does.
Format: Each item has the question in bold on its own line, then a one to three sentence answer. Plain wording, no jargon. After the list, add "Needs an answer from us" as a bulleted list.
```

## What a good answer looks like

- Prices appear exactly as pasted: $29, $39, $250, two months saved on annual billing.
- "Is there a free trial?" lands under "Needs an answer from us", because the price sheet never mentions one.
- Cancellation is stated plainly, including that annual plans are not refunded.
- No "starting at" wording and no discounts you didn't list.

## How to check it before you use it

An AI draft can sound right and still say something you never told it. Use the habit from the [Reply Faster lesson](https://learn.ynteractive.com/content/chatgpt-reply-to-customer-emails): check every promise, name, date and number against what you gave it before anything goes out.

- Check each answer against the price sheet, line by line. Pay special attention to limits such as 25 users.
- Answer the "Needs an answer from us" list yourself, then add those answers. That list is the most useful part.
- Ask a salesperson to read it. If they would answer any question differently, the sheet or the FAQ is wrong.
- Put a "last updated" date on the page, and redo the check when prices change.

## Why this prompt works

A pricing page that contradicts what sales says costs more trust than it saves time. Letting the model answer only from one pasted source keeps the FAQ and the price sheet in agreement.

## Practice it in the free lesson

**[Prompt Writing 101: Role, Context, Task, Format](https://learn.ynteractive.com/content/prompt-writing-101-role-context-task-format)**: Ask ChatGPT for the same customer email twice, once vaguely and once with a four-part prompt, and see exactly why structure gets a better answer. You do every step yourself in a practice copy of ChatGPT, and nothing touches your real accounts.
