Use this after an AI tool such as Slidebean has drafted your deck. It checks the slide text against your one-page plan and lists every figure, claim or name the plan does not contain, so you can fix them before an investor asks.

Paste the slide text and the plan, with no personal data beyond what you would show an investor. It finds mismatches; it does not know whether your plan is true, and it can miss things. Read the slides yourself too.

## The prompt

Copy it into ChatGPT (or Claude, Gemini or Copilot) and replace every `[BLANK]` with your own details. It uses the four parts from [Prompt Writing 101](https://learn.ynteractive.com/content/prompt-writing-101-role-context-task-format): Role, Context, Task and Format.

Copy prompt

```text
Role: You are a careful due-diligence reviewer checking a draft pitch deck for [COMPANY].
Context: Below is our one-page plan, which is the only source of truth, followed by the text of each slide in the draft deck. Plan: [PLAN]. Slides: [SLIDE TEXT].
Task: List every number, statistic, name, date or claim on the slides that does not appear in the plan. Also list placeholders and sample data, such as $XX or John Smith, and any slide that is vague about what we do. Do not fix or rewrite anything yet and do not add facts of your own.
Format: A table with the slide number, the exact text, the problem (not in plan, placeholder or vague) and a suggested action: delete, replace with the plan's figure, or ask the founder. Then one line saying how many items you found.
```

## Fill in the blanks

**`[COMPANY]`**

Your company name.

**`[PLAN]`**

Your one-page plan, including price, traction and the ask.

**`[SLIDE TEXT]`**

The text of each slide, labeled by slide number.

## Example, filled in

**A made-up example** from the free lesson [Turn a One-Page Business Plan into an Investor-Ready Deck using Slidebean](https://learn.ynteractive.com/content/slidebean-pitch-deck-from-business-plan). Ledgerly is the made-up bookkeeping startup in the Slidebean pitch deck lesson. The shortened plan and slide lines below are an illustration of how the founder might fill the prompt in, not the lesson's exact data.

Copy example

```text
Role: You are a careful due-diligence reviewer checking a draft pitch deck for Ledgerly.
Context: Below is our one-page plan, which is the only source of truth, followed by the text of each slide in the draft deck. Plan: monthly bookkeeping for small professional firms, 84 paying clients, $250 a month per client, raising a $750k seed. Slides: Slide 2: Owners lose a billion dollars a year to late books. Slide 5: $XX/mo per client. Slide 7: Raising $XXX,XXX.
Task: List every number, statistic, name, date or claim on the slides that does not appear in the plan. Also list placeholders and sample data, such as $XX or John Smith, and any slide that is vague about what we do. Do not fix or rewrite anything yet and do not add facts of your own.
Format: A table with the slide number, the exact text, the problem (not in plan, placeholder or vague) and a suggested action: delete, replace with the plan's figure, or ask the founder. Then one line saying how many items you found.
```

## What a good answer looks like

- The plan is the only source of truth, so the AI cannot quietly vouch for an invented statistic.
- Placeholders and vague slides are listed along with wrong numbers.
- It reports first and fixes nothing, so you decide every change.

## How to check it before you use it

An AI draft can sound right and still say something you never told it. Use the habit from the [Reply Faster lesson](https://learn.ynteractive.com/content/chatgpt-reply-to-customer-emails): check every promise, name, date and number against what you gave it before anything goes out.

- Open the deck and check each flagged slide yourself, then scan the slides it did not flag.
- Confirm the plan's own figures against your books before you present them.
- Check what your pitch deck tool's plan allows for export and sharing before the meeting.
- Do not paste anything an investor would not see yet, such as confidential client names.

## Why this prompt works

In the lesson, the AI added figures to the Problem slide that were nowhere in the plan, and several slides kept the template's placeholders. A second pass that does only one job, comparing the slides with the plan, is a quick way to catch both. It supports your own review; it does not replace it.

## Practice it in the free lesson

**[Turn a One-Page Business Plan into an Investor-Ready Deck using Slidebean](https://learn.ynteractive.com/content/slidebean-pitch-deck-from-business-plan)**: A founder with a one-page plan and an investor meeting next week needs a pitch deck. Slidebean drafts 13 slides from the plan in two minutes. Then you catch the numbers the AI made up and fill the blanks it left, so… You do every step yourself in a practice copy of Slidebean, and nothing touches your real accounts.

## Frequently asked questions

**Does it work for decks made in other tools?**

Yes. It only needs the slide text and your plan, so it works for decks made in Gamma, PowerPoint or by hand.

**Can the checker be wrong?**

Yes. It can miss a claim or flag something that is in the plan. Treat the list as a head start for your own read-through.
