Use this when you have two or three quotes for a client and want to show them side by side in a way they can actually read. The prompt pulls the same items out of each quote, such as premium, term, liability limits, deductibles and optional coverages, and puts them in one table. Anything a quote doesn't show is marked "Not shown on quote" rather than assumed.

It does not pick a winner or promise what a policy will pay. The carrier's policy language decides coverage, and you add your own recommendation afterward, as the licensed agent.

**Have a professional review it.** This prompt helps you draft, not decide coverage. Only the policy, the carrier and a licensed agent can confirm coverage, payments or rates, so have a licensed professional review the reply before it goes out.

## The prompt

Copy it into ChatGPT (or Claude, Gemini or Copilot) and replace every `[BLANK]` with your own details. It uses the four parts from [Prompt Writing 101](https://learn.ynteractive.com/content/prompt-writing-101-role-context-task-format): Role, Context, Task and Format.

Copy prompt

```text
Role: You are an account manager at [AGENCY] preparing a quote comparison for a client.
Context: The client is [CLIENT]. The coverage being quoted: [COVERAGE]. What matters most to the client: [PRIORITIES]. The quotes are pasted below, one per carrier, labeled with the carrier name: [QUOTES].
Task: Build a side-by-side table with one column per carrier and rows for: annual or term premium, payment options, policy term, each liability limit, each deductible, optional coverages included, discounts listed and anything marked as an exclusion or condition. Use only figures and wording from the quotes. Where a quote does not show an item, write "Not shown on quote". Below the table, list the differences that relate to the client's stated priorities, in neutral words. Do not recommend a carrier, do not say any coverage is "full" or "complete", and do not promise how a claim would be handled.
Format: A table, then a short "Differences to discuss" list, then one line: "Quotes are estimates. The policy and the carrier decide coverage." No emoji.
```

## Fill in the blanks

**`[AGENCY]`**

Your agency's name.

**`[CLIENT]`**

The client's name and what changed, such as "adding a teen driver".

**`[COVERAGE]`**

The line of insurance, such as personal auto or a business owner's policy.

**`[PRIORITIES]`**

What the client told you: budget, a low deductible, a specific coverage.

**`[QUOTES]`**

Each quote's details copied from the carrier's quote sheet. Remove license numbers and dates of birth.

## Example, filled in

**A made-up example** from the free lesson [Reply Faster to Claim-Status Emails: ChatGPT for Independent Insurance Agencies](https://learn.ynteractive.com/content/chatgpt-reply-claim-status-emails-insurance-agency). Stonebridge Insurance Agency is the made-up independent agency from the claim-status lesson. In its inbox, Luis Ortega writes that his son just got his license and asks what the agency needs to add him. In this made-up scenario, Tom has quoted the family auto policy with the current carrier, Harbor Mutual, and one other made-up carrier. All figures are invented.

Copy example

```text
Role: You are an account manager at Stonebridge Insurance Agency preparing a quote comparison for a client.
Context: The client is Luis Ortega, adding his newly licensed son to the family auto policy. The coverage being quoted: personal auto for two vehicles and three drivers. What matters most to the client: keeping the monthly payment manageable and keeping rental reimbursement. The quotes are pasted below, one per carrier, labeled with the carrier name: Harbor Mutual, 6-month premium $1,486, monthly or paid in full, liability 100/300/100, comprehensive deductible $500, collision deductible $500, rental reimbursement $40 per day up to $1,200, good student discount listed. Lakeview Casualty, 6-month premium $1,392, paid in full or two installments, liability 100/300/100, comprehensive deductible $1,000, collision deductible $1,000, rental reimbursement not listed, good student discount listed.
Task: Build a side-by-side table with one column per carrier and rows for: annual or term premium, payment options, policy term, each liability limit, each deductible, optional coverages included, discounts listed and anything marked as an exclusion or condition. Use only figures and wording from the quotes. Where a quote does not show an item, write "Not shown on quote". Below the table, list the differences that relate to the client's stated priorities, in neutral words. Do not recommend a carrier, do not say any coverage is "full" or "complete", and do not promise how a claim would be handled.
Format: A table, then a short "Differences to discuss" list, then one line: "Quotes are estimates. The policy and the carrier decide coverage." No emoji.
```

## What a good answer looks like

- Two columns, the same rows for both, and every figure matching the quote sheets.
- "Not shown on quote" for Lakeview's rental reimbursement, instead of assuming it is missing or included.
- Differences tied to Luis's priorities: Lakeview costs less, Harbor Mutual has lower deductibles and lists rental reimbursement.
- No line saying which to pick.

## How to check it before you use it

An AI draft can sound right and still say something you never told it. Use the habit from the [Reply Faster lesson](https://learn.ynteractive.com/content/chatgpt-reply-to-customer-emails): check every promise, name, date and number against what you gave it before anything goes out.

- Check every number in the table against the carrier quote. One wrong deductible can change the whole conversation.
- Ask each carrier about any "Not shown on quote" row.
- Add your own recommendation in your words, as the licensed agent, after the AI draft.

## Practice it in the free lesson

**[Reply Faster to Claim-Status Emails: ChatGPT for Independent Insurance Agencies](https://learn.ynteractive.com/content/chatgpt-reply-claim-status-emails-insurance-agency)**: A client with an open auto claim wants a payment date, a rental and a promise about her rate. Give ChatGPT the thread and your agency's facts, catch what it shouldn't promise, and send an honest reply from Gmail. You do every step yourself in a practice copy of ChatGPT, and nothing touches your real accounts.
