## Why it matters for a small business

For a busy office the value is the Meeting Report that lands after every call. Instead of someone typing up notes, the report already has the summary and the action items, and you can share it with a person as viewer or editor, send it to Slack, or download the report and transcript. Its help center shows two ways in: connect your calendar so the Read Assistant joins chosen meetings automatically, or click Add to live meeting and paste the meeting link.

Read AI also goes beyond single meetings. Search Copilot and Ask Read answer questions across your meetings and connected apps, and Speaker Coach gives feedback on how you run a call. Its site lists connections to Gmail, Outlook, Slack, Salesforce, HubSpot, Notion, Jira, Confluence, Asana, Google Drive and Zapier. Read AI lists a free tier with a monthly number of meetings, and no credit card to start.

## In a real lesson: Summarize a Meeting Transcript with ChatGPT

The [Summarize a Meeting Transcript lesson](https://learn.ynteractive.com/content/chatgpt-summarize-meeting-transcript) teaches what a good meeting summary must hold: a short summary, the decisions, an action items table with an owner and a due date for every task, the open questions, and a follow-up email.

Use it as the checklist for a Read AI Meeting Report. Before you share the report outside the team, make sure every action item has a named owner and a date, and that nothing in the summary was a suggestion someone floated rather than a decision the room made.

## Common confusions

### Meeting Report vs transcript

The [meeting transcript](https://learn.ynteractive.com/content/glossary/meeting-transcript) is every word. The Meeting Report wraps it with a summary, [action items](https://learn.ynteractive.com/content/glossary/action-items), playback and engagement data.

### Read Assistant vs a bot-free recorder

Read AI's assistant joins the call as a participant, so the host has to admit it. Tools that record from your own computer show nothing in the meeting.

## Tips

- Choose which meetings it auto-joins, such as only the ones you host.
- Tell attendees before the assistant joins.
- Share reports as viewer unless someone really needs to edit.
