With an MSA, the two sides agree on the hard parts once. After that, each piece of work gets its own [statement of work](https://learn.ynteractive.com/content/glossary/statement-of-work) or order form with the scope, timeline and price, and it inherits the MSA's terms automatically. That structure only works if the documents agree with each other. A good MSA says which document wins if they conflict, how changes are made, and how either side can end the relationship. Because the MSA governs every project that follows, mistakes in it repeat. These are supply orders, not services, and the lesson never mentions an MSA. But the structure is similar. Each purchase order is a small document for one order, while a master agreement with a regular vendor, if Ridgeline had one, would set terms that apply to every order, such as how shortages are handled. When the agent asks Northwind Wrap to "ship the missing 12 rolls or issue a credit," a master agreement might already say which remedy applies. The system prompt also says: "Do not threaten to cancel orders or invent penalties." That is a sensible rule for an AI.
