Safe AI at work: the one-page checklist
(From the Stepthrough lesson "Use AI at Work Without Leaking Client Data using ChatGPT". Lakeside Property Management is a made-up example.)

1. Before you paste
Take out names, addresses, account and card numbers, passwords, health details and anything under an NDA. Use placeholders like [TENANT], [UNIT] and [NEW BANK DETAILS].

2. Your settings
On personal plans, turn off Improve the model for everyone (your name at the bottom left > Settings > Data controls). Business and Enterprise plans don't train on your data by default. Follow your company's AI policy.

3. Before you send
Check every fact, number, date and promise against your own records. AI fills gaps with things that sound right.
