Quick answer

A Reddit feed through ProLevelMax is useful to any office role that needs to know what real customers say in public: marketers looking for content ideas, founders checking demand, product managers collecting complaints, support leads spotting problems early, sales teams watching competitors, and analysts tracking a topic. The workflow is the same for all of them, built in the free [ProLevelMax in n8n lesson](https://learn.ynteractive.com/content/prolevelmax-n8n-reddit-rss-replacement): one HTTP Request pulls posts, a [Code node](https://learn.ynteractive.com/content/glossary/code-node) trims them, and an [AI Agent](https://learn.ynteractive.com/content/glossary/ai-agent) groups them into themes with links. What changes by role is the source, the subreddit or keyword, the question and where the answer goes.

This is a practical version of [social listening](https://learn.ynteractive.com/content/glossary/social-listening): reading what a community says so you act on real words, not guesses.

## What are the three building blocks?

Every use case below mixes the same three pieces from the lesson:

| Building block | Source id | Input you change | Good for |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Subreddit feed | `procli_reddit_c` | `subreddit_name`, `sort` | A daily read of one community |
| Post search | `procli_reddit_d` | `query` | A keyword, brand or competitor watch |
| Post comments | `procli_reddit_b` | the post | The full thread on a post that matters |

Each was $0.003 per call on 19 October 2026. The AI step is optional: the keyword monitor hands posts straight to Slack or a sheet.

## How do marketing managers use it?

This is the lesson's own case. Maya Chen, marketing manager at the made-up Tallgrass Books, reads r/smallbusiness every weekday at 8:00 AM through a [Schedule Trigger](https://learn.ynteractive.com/content/glossary/schedule-trigger) and gets a Slack summary of what owners ask about. Her blog topics and ad angles come from it.

- **Change:** the subreddit to the one your buyers use, and the question to "What are people asking about X this week?"
- **Check:** open two linked posts behind each theme before you write a post about it.

## How do founders and small business owners use it?

A founder deciding whether to build or stock something wants to hear the problem in customers' own words. Swap the chat question for "What do people complain about when they try to do X?" and run it against a niche subreddit for a week.

- **Change:** sort to TOP to see what resonated, or NEW for what is happening today.
- **Check:** the system message must say "answer using only the Reddit posts provided" and "say so if the posts do not cover the question," so a quiet week reads as quiet instead of invented.

## How do product managers use it?

Product teams use the Post search source with their product's name or the job it does. Once a day the keyword monitor finds new posts, maps them to RSS-style fields and sends each one on. Product managers usually append them to a sheet, then read the comment thread (a second call to Post comments) only on posts with a real bug or feature request.

- **Change:** the `query` in the body, and add a Google Sheets node after **Map to RSS-style fields**.
- **Check:** `post.score` and `post.commentCount` help you sort, but read the post itself before you file a ticket.

## How do customer support and success leads use it?

Support leads watch for their product name plus words like "broken" or "refund," so a public complaint reaches the team the same day. The keyword monitor is enough here, no AI needed: one Slack message per new post, with the link.

- **Change:** the keyword, and the Slack channel.
- **Check:** reply as a person, on Reddit's own terms. The workflow only reads posts; it never posts.

## How do sales and business development teams use it?

Sales teams search for a competitor's name to learn what buyers dislike about it. The AI Agent's job is to group those posts into themes such as price, setup or support, with quotes and links, for a weekly note to the team.

- **Change:** the trigger to a weekly schedule and the question to "What do people dislike about competitor X?"
- **Check:** a handful of loud posts is not a market. Count how many posts sit behind each theme.

## How do analysts and researchers use it?

Analysts tracking a topic, such as how small firms talk about a new rule, run a subreddit feed or a search daily and keep every post in a sheet. Over a month that becomes a dataset you can count and quote. The `page` cursor in the response fetches the next page when one call isn't enough.

- **Change:** keep `post.createdAt` so you can chart the trend by date.
- **Check:** note the date you pulled each post, since posts get edited and deleted.

## What do all these roles share?

Three rules from the lesson apply to every role: keep the key in a Bearer Auth credential, trim posts before the AI reads them, and spot-check the links. The [ProLevelMax mistakes guide](https://learn.ynteractive.com/content/blog/prolevelmax-reddit-n8n-mistakes) covers what goes wrong, and the [ProLevelMax cheat sheet](https://learn.ynteractive.com/content/cheat-sheets) puts the settings on one page. ProLevelMax also sits in the [AI tools directory](https://learn.ynteractive.com/content/ai-tools/research-search#tool-prolevelmax).

## Key takeaways

- One workflow serves many roles; you change the source, the input, the question and the destination.
- Use the subreddit feed for a community, Post search for a keyword and Post comments for a thread.
- Skip the AI step when a link in Slack is all you need.
- Every role should read the source posts before acting on a summary.

## Frequently asked questions

**Which role gets the most out of a Reddit feed?**

Roles that need customers' own words: marketing, product and support. The lesson starts with a marketing manager's morning summary.

**Can several teams share one workflow?**

Yes. Add more HTTP Request nodes with different bodies, or copy the workflow and change the subreddit, keyword and channel for each team. All of them can use the same ProLevelMax credential.

**Does it post or reply on Reddit?**

No. The sources in the lesson read posts and comments. Any reply is yours to write.

**How often should it run?**

Daily suits most roles: the keyword monitor's Schedule Trigger runs every 24 hours. Weekly works for competitor notes. Each run is one call per request.

**Do I need the AI Agent?**

Only when you want themes and answers. For alerts, the keyword monitor without AI is simpler. See the [keyword monitor template](https://learn.ynteractive.com/content/blog/prolevelmax-reddit-keyword-monitor-template).
