Quick answer

The biggest mistake with [Beautiful.ai](https://learn.ynteractive.com/content/glossary/beautiful-ai)'s Create with AI is leaving the real numbers out of the brief. The AI fills every gap it finds, and on a client results deck a filled gap is a figure nobody can stand behind. The next mistakes follow from it: generating before you read the outline, letting AI pictures onto a results slide, and sending the deck without checking each number. All of them are covered in the free [Beautiful.ai client review deck lesson](https://learn.ynteractive.com/modules/beautiful-ai-client-review-deck), where you build a [quarterly review](https://learn.ynteractive.com/content/glossary/quarterly-business-review) from a brief in about 6 minutes.

The example is made up. Priya is an account manager at Fernhill Marketing, a small agency, building the Q3 review for its client Copperline Coffee, and every number is invented for the lesson. The lesson is a practice copy of Beautiful.ai built from its public help center in October 2026 and not tested in the real app, so a label may read a little differently today.

## What are the most common Beautiful.ai deck mistakes?

| # | Mistake | Fix |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 1 | Leaving numbers out of the brief | Paste every real figure into the [prompt](https://learn.ynteractive.com/content/glossary/prompt) |
| 2 | No audience or tone in the brief | Say who reads it and how it should sound |
| 3 | Generating before reading the outline | Fix the outline first, then **Generate Presentation** |
| 4 | Keeping a slide nobody asked for | Remove it from the outline |
| 5 | Forgetting the slide you do need | Ask the AI chat for it in plain words |
| 6 | AI images on a results deck | Choose **No images** under **Visual Preferences** |
| 7 | Sending without a number check | Check every figure against the brief, then share |

## Which mistakes happen in the brief?

**1. Leaving numbers out of the brief.** This is the one that matters most. The lesson's brief lists every figure the client will see: website visits 18,400 (up 22% on Q2), email list 6,150 (up 640), Instagram followers 9,800 (up 1,100) and 412 online orders from email. It also says what worked (the Cold Brew Week email series), what did not (paid ads on Facebook) and the plan for next quarter. When the numbers are in the prompt, the AI places them; it does not make them up. An answer tied to facts you supplied is called [grounding](https://learn.ynteractive.com/content/glossary/grounding), and a deck built without it invites a [hallucination](https://learn.ynteractive.com/content/glossary/hallucination). Beautiful.ai's help center says you can also add documents, PDFs or links to the prompt.

**2. No audience or tone.** "A deck about Q3" gives the AI nothing to aim at. The lesson's brief says the deck is for the client's owner and marketing lead, asks for six slides, and sets the tone: friendly, plain and confident. Those few words shape every slide title.

## Why does the outline step matter so much?

**3. Generating before reading the outline.** After you click the **submit** arrow, Beautiful.ai writes a slide-by-slide outline before it makes any slides. Read it. Fixing a list of titles takes seconds; fixing finished slides takes much longer. Beautiful.ai's help center says you can change slide titles and copy, reorder or remove slides, add sections, or ask the AI chat for changes before you click **Generate Presentation**.

**4. Keeping a slide nobody asked for.** In the lesson the outline included **Industry coffee trends**. It was not in the brief and had no facts behind it, so any slide built from it would be filler, or worse, invented. Priya clicked its **remove** button. Look for slides like this in every outline: general trends, market stats or quotes you never supplied.

**5. Forgetting the slide you do need.** A review that ends without next steps leaves the client asking "so what now?". In the AI chat panel, Priya typed *Add a next steps slide at the end with owners and dates*, and the outline gained a **Next steps** slide. Plain words work. A clean [slide outline](https://learn.ynteractive.com/content/glossary/slide-outline) is half the deck.

## What goes wrong with the look?

**6. AI images on a results deck.** Under **Visual Preferences**, the image source options in the lesson are **AI-generated**, **Stock**, **Web** and **No images**. For a client results deck, choose **No images**. A picture of a coffee shop that is not the client's can mislead, and it adds nothing to the numbers. In the lesson Priya also picks the warm, orange theme, close to the client's own colors. If your firm or the client has set colors and fonts, a [brand kit](https://learn.ynteractive.com/content/glossary/brand-kit) keeps them the same from deck to deck.

## What should happen before you share?

**7. Sending without a number check.** After **Generate Presentation**, open every slide that holds a figure and compare it with your brief. In the lesson that is the **Website and email results** slide: four numbers, all checked against the brief before Priya opens **Share**. Every number on a client deck is your promise. Then click **Share**, **Share Public Link** (you can name the link) and **Copy Link**, and paste the link into your email.

## Key takeaways

- The brief carries the facts: audience, tone and every real number.
- Read the outline before you generate. Remove filler, add what is missing.
- Use the AI chat for outline changes in plain words.
- Choose **No images** for results decks.
- Check every figure against the brief before you click **Share**.

## Frequently asked questions

**Can I fix a slide after generating?**

Yes, Beautiful.ai is an editor too. But the lesson's point stands: changes to the outline cost less than changes to finished slides.

**What if the AI adds a statistic I did not give it?**

Remove it or replace it with your own figure. If the source is not your brief or the client's data, it does not belong on the deck.

**Do I need a Beautiful.ai account for the lesson?**

No. It is a practice copy. No deck is created and no Beautiful.ai account is touched.

**Are the time savings real?**

They are example numbers: about 12 hours a month by hand against about 4 with Create with AI. The lesson asks you to use your own.
